Come può la fee di una conferenza – neanche troppo lontana, neanche troppo prestigiosa – venire quasi la metà dello stipendio di un ricercatore italiano?!
Eppure il paper – accettato – mi sembra possa offrire spunti interessanti. Sarebbe un peccato tenerlo in un cassetto 
Territories of digital communities. Representing the social landscape of web relationships

L’uomo instaura fisiologicamente una relazione con il territorio che abita, che a sua volta viene plasmato dalla/in funzione della sua presenza.
La sedimentazione dei luoghi e delle loro funzioni, casuali o pianificate, vengono “abitate” dalle persone secondo modelli e relazioni che sono profondamente embeddate (connesse) al vissuto esperienziale, personale e sociale.
I nuovi territori digitali, siano essi 3D – come i MUD o SecondLife – o social network del web 2.0, sembrano instaurare relazioni simili e, al tempo stesso, diverse rispetto alle dinamiche sociali tradizionali.
Quali sono dunque la caratteristiche specifiche di questi territori virtuali? Come si relazioni con quelli reali e sociali di sui sono rappresentazione ed espressione?
Come si possono (ri)produrre esperienze di senso significative per le diverse user persona o meglio tribù sociali che in essi interagiscono e dialogano?
Sono queste le domande esplorate da uno studio condotto sul campo che ha come oggetto il quartiere di Milano-Bicocca. La ricerca si è composta di una prima parte esplorativa di indagine sul territorio dell’isola urbana che ha utilizzato un approccio di indagine qualitativa ibrido per capire le relazioni che intercorrono tra lo spazio fisico e le relazioni instaurano con esso e tra loro i gruppi sociali che lo vivono quotidianamente e tra i gruppi sociali stessi e la loro interazione e rappresentazione nei mondi digitali.
La seconda parte, progettuale, propone dei modelli di rappresentazione/progettazione di strumenti di comunicazione web plasmati – a partire da un approccio user centered – sulle tribù sociali e sul loro vissuto relazionale.

People establish physiologically a connection with the territory that live in, and in turn the territory will be modeled by the/in function of their presence. The sedimentation of the places and of their functions, by chance or planned, get inhabited peoples according to models and connections that are deeply linked to the individual and social lived – day to day – experience.
The new digital territories, as 3D – like the MUD or SecondLife – or social network of the web 2.0, seem to set up similar connections and, at the same time different, as the traditional social dynamics do with the physical territory.
How are they able to (re)produce significant experiences of meaning for the different user personas or more precisely for the social tribes that in the territory interact and communicate?
These are the questions investigated by this study carried out on the field and centered on the district of Milano-Bicocca.
The study is composed of a first exploratory part: a research on the territory of the urban island. A qualitative and hybrid research approach has produced to understand the connections that the social groups that live the district day to day establish with the physical space and between the groups themselves. The relations have been compared with the interaction and representation in the digital worlds of the social groups.
The second part – design oriented – proposes some models of representation/design of tools for planning web communication modeled according to an approach user centered on the social tribes and on their relational experience.
